It's great that you're interested in joining us for your student placement. Before we get started here are a few answers to questions you may have.
Who are Thrive Homes?
Thrive Homes is a housing association with offices in Apsley, near Hemel Hempstead. We own and manage over 5,500 homes across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Our customers range from those living in social and affordable rented homes to private market rent and home ownership either through shared ownership or as leaseholders.
Our business is built around the importance of a home as the foundation that enables individuals and families to build and sustain the lives they want. We are focused on increasing housing availability and affordability in some of the most expensive parts of the UK.
What is the role?
You will be joining us as a Student Multi Trade Placement.
This is a field-based role, so you will spend most of your time on the road. You will be buddied up with experienced Multi Trade Engineers who will support you and help guide you to complete repairs right first time.
During the working day, you will have appointments at a mixture of occupied and empty homes, where you will be involved in assessing and carrying out repairs.
Typically the type of repairs you will carry out will be both responsive and planned multi trade works including:
- carpentry
- plumbing
- glazing
- fencing
- plastering
This is a great opportunity to gain experience and knowledge across a broad range of skills.
Will I get paid?
Yes! Whilst it isn't expected for student placements to be paid, we have decided to pay you £10.40 per hour for the time that you work with us.
We value your time and recognise the importance of being paid for the work that you do.
How do I apply?
Please speak to your tutor about the application process.
