Embracing Allyship at Thrive Homes for a More Inclusive Future
27 September 2023
At Thrive Homes, diversity is an integral part of who we are and how we work.
As an organisation, we firmly believe that diverse and inclusive workplaces are essential for high-performance and overall success. Extensive research and studies indicate that teams with greater diversity and inclusivity tend to make better business decisions, resulting in improved performance.
It's bigger than the numbers!
However, it is not just about the numbers for us. As a landlord that serves an incredibly diverse customer base, we understand the importance of working together as a team, embracing our unique strengths, our similarities and our differences to ensure that we deliver the best possible services for our customers. We recognise that to do this, we need to empower our people and foster a culture of innovation, empathy and belonging. At Thrive, we firmly believe that combining equality, diversity and inclusion with genuine allyship creates a powerful synergy that drives transformative change.
The Allyship Project
To this end, we have launched our new initiative – the Allyship Project – an internally led training program that supports and educates our colleagues to become better allies, who foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity at every level of the business. The programme provides a series of interactive workshops, on-demand resources, peer group support opportunities and engagement with our policies and behaviours, all designed to enable our colleagues to walk a mile in other people’s shoes. By better understanding and relating to the unique perspectives of colleagues and customers alike, we can offer a more tailored and effective service that resonates with their needs and preferences.
The Allyship Project is a vital component of our commitment to creating a fair, inclusive and customer-centric culture that prioritises the well-being of both our colleagues and customers. We believe that investing in our people’s education and growth is a critical first step in harnessing the power of our diverse workforce to provide a more inclusive, innovative, and compassionate service to our customers. Ultimately our goal is to create a thriving hub of empathy and belonging, where our colleagues and customers feel seen, heard and valued, just as they are.
Our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
We are proud to treat people fairly and as equals, working in a principled and responsible way to provide a good place to work, quality homes and consistent services.
