Thrive Homes announces major land deal
Thrive Homes who own around 5,000 rented and leasehold properties across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire, has completed the unconditional purchase of a three-acre site in Croxley Green, an area just east of Watford on which it hopes to bring forward a £30 million development.
The site is currently home to Cinnamond House, which is used as an office block, workshop and yard and is the largest site that Thrive Homes has acquired to date, highlighting the organisation’s commitment to an ambitious acquisition and growth strategy.

Thrive Homes is currently in the process of working up detailed plans that will set out how the site will be developed in the future, these plans will allow for a large proportion of new homes to be affordable, split across several tenures including shared ownership and affordable rent.
Commenting on the land acquisition, Jack Burnham, Development Director at Thrive Homes said: “We’re really excited to begin bringing this site forward, it marks another key milestone for our business, which has seen significant growth over the past few years.
The site itself is in a fantastic location and will help to deliver much needed affordable homes to the local area. We’re committed to offering a range of tenures to continue to meet the varying customer need that we see across the areas we operate in”.
Thrive Homes has completed a number of new developments over the past two years and this latest acquisition supports their ambitious growth strategy, which will see the housing association double their housing stock to 10,000 homes over the next 10 years.
