Thrive Homes and MySafeHome partner to enhance accessibility for disabled homeowners
- MySafeHome to join Thrive Homes mortgage panel to improve accessibility for individuals with a disability
- Unique shared ownership model will help those excluded from paid employment get onto the property ladder
- MySafeHome has facilitated more than 1,600 mortgages through this model nationwide
Thrive Homes, a leading housing association with nearly 6,000 homes across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire, has announced a strategic partnership with MySafeHome, a specialist mortgage provider dedicated to supporting disabled individuals in accessing home ownership.
MySafeHome will join Thrive Homes' mortgage panel effective immediately, to enhance accessibility for disabled homeowners.
MySafeHome has been a pioneering force in the mortgage market for 27 years, having successfully facilitated over 1,600 mortgages nationwide. The organisation enables those excluded from paid employment to get onto the property ladder through their unique shared ownership model, recognising benefits as earnings.
Their service goes beyond that of a typical broker by making sure buyers receive all the benefits they are eligible for and continue to meet mortgage payments throughout the lifetime of their agreement.
This new partnership between MySafeHome and Thrive Homes underscores the organisations’ shared missions of providing quality, affordable homes where people thrive. The partnership will increase housing availability and affordability for people with a disability in one of the most expensive areas to live in the UK.
David Abbey, Managing Director at MySafeHome, said:
“Having a disability should not prevent anyone from owning a home and benefiting from the stability and comfort this brings. We are delighted to be partnering with Thrive Homes to help more individuals with a disability access new homes through shared ownership.”
Alix Green, Executive Director – Investment & Growth at Thrive Homes, said:
“Accessibility is a key principle in all our developments. Every project we undertake includes a minimum percentage of fully accessible homes, designed to meet diverse needs. This collaboration with MySafeHome will mean we can prioritise these homes for those who benefit most from them.”
Thrive Homes welcomed the first buyer with MySafeHome to Parkside in Watford just before Christmas. Read more about this development at www.parksidewatford.co.uk
