Chequers appointed to provide Thrive’s communal Grounds Maintenance service

12/04/2021

Thrive Homes are pleased to announce that Chequers has taken over as their Grounds Maintenance service provider from Thursday 15th April 2021.

Together with customers, Thrive undertook a competitive tender process throughout the Autumn and Winter. As part of this process, customers had the opportunity to attend focus groups to voice their opinions on what a new contractor could deliver as part of the service.

  • Listening, learning and improving

Thrive is committed to providing quality homes and services as part of a fair deal for customers. Listening to customers’ views is important to understand their values and where things could improve. Some of this feedback from the tendering process revealed:

Customers said: they would prefer to complain and give feedback to Thrive, as opposed to directly to the contractor.

Thrive has: changed the process so customers can give feedback to Thrive directly. Customers can contact Thrive in the usual ways or simply visit: thrivehomes.org.uk/feedback

Customers said: they aren't always sure what to expect from the Grounds Maintenance service.

Thrive has: produced a summary of what customers can expect and this is available to view, download or print at: thrivehomes.org.uk/communalstandards

    Customers said:
they’d like more information on when visits are scheduled.

Thrive has: made arrangements to put this information together with Chequers and make it available for customers in the coming months.

Rebecca Handley, Thrive’s Relationship Management Lead said: “Chequers demonstrated a solid understanding of our customers’ needs throughout the tender process. Coupled with their proven experience in delivering quality grounds maintenance services, I have every confidence Chequers will deliver against our fair standards. We look forward to working in partnership with Chequers to provide an improved grounds maintenance service for our customers.

Chequers is a family run business that has been providing grounds maintenance services for over 30 years. James Kelly, Managing Director said:

“We are delighted to have been selected by Thrive Homes as a trusted partner in delivering grounds maintenance and associated services across this portfolio of sites. We will use our long history of working within the social housing sector to deliver a great solution and ensure a high standard of customer service which we recognise is essential in this environment. We look forward to being able to improve and develop the garden areas for the use and enjoyment of Thrive residents.”

Thrive and Chequers will be working closely together in the coming months to carry out site visits to make sure standards are being maintained. In the meantime, customers can keep Thrive updated on how things are going by giving feedback online at: thrivehomes.org.uk/feedback
