Hedge planting at Cinnamond House

Working with Sunnyside Rural Trust, Thrive Homes has planted 35 fast-growing leylandii trees at Cinnamond House in Croxley Green, near Watford.

The hedge, at the east of the proposed development site, will improve privacy to neighbouring homes, reduce wind and noise, filter out pollution and provide shelter for wildlife.

Sunnyside Rural Trust is a charity and social enterprise offering training and work experience for vulnerable people in Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Northchurch. Their focus on the ‘plot to plate’ provides people with learning disabilities the opportunity to acquire skills in a number of rural activities; from sowing seeds and nurturing plants to making produce to sell in their own farm shop or market stalls.

Alongside tree planting at Cinnamond House, Sunnyside has provided garden clearance and tidying as part of our conversion programme, refurbishing out of date butterfly bungalows for modern living. By working with Sunnyside, Thrive Homes has been able to benefit from the team’s expertise whilst supporting a thriving social enterprise and giving back to the communities we operate within.

Thrive is committed to promoting tree planting and conservation on our development sites as part of a wider corporate social responsibility strategy.
