Thrive Homes continues to create positive outcomes in response to customer feedback.
As part of our maintenance programme, we have been carrying out roofing works to Thrive properties in the Three Rivers area. These works form one of many of Thrive’s major works programmes amounting to £3.7million during 2019-20 as detailed in the Annual Report for Tenants.
During the planning of these works, customers expressed concerns that the project would negatively impact swifts who were nesting under the eaves of their roofs on Middleton Road, an area of Mill End, Rickmansworth; a popular area to swifts who fly over from Central Africa every year. The roof replacement works would have meant that the swift’s entry points would be removed.
Swifts are endangered species and there is a decline in their population, so Three Rivers Swift Group has come together to encourage places for them to safely reside.
When the request came in to support the local swift cause, we were delighted to be able to help and arranged the installation of nest boxes in partnership with the Three Rivers Swift Group.
Reinforcing the importance of protecting swifts, a local resident explained: “these birds are site specific and will keep trying to return to an old nest site even after it has gone … It almost defies belief that these birds can fly from Central Africa, nonstop, and return to the same houses in Mill End year after year.”
Understanding what’s important to customers enables Thrive to make decisions that support creating quality homes where people enjoy living. Thrive encourages customer feedback and works hard to build processes that ensure views are captured, reviewed and any lessons learned are put into action plans. These are carefully crafted with the Service Shapers Group (SSG), a group of customers who review customer satisfaction and complaints performance.
The SSG is a great opportunity for customers to get involved and shape services that benefit other Thrive residents. Any Thrive customer can sign up, and more information is available at: thrivehomes.org.uk/ssg
