Thrive Homes Recognized for Innovative Tenant Communication at Housing Innovation Awards

18 December 2024

In December 2024, Thrive Homes was shortlisted for the Housing Innovation Awards, acknowledging their groundbreaking approach to customer communication when moving into a new shared ownership home. The awards ceremony, celebrating excellence and innovation in UK housing, will be held on 12 February at the Birmingham ICC.

The Hertfordshire based, housing association has enhanced customer experience with innovative QR-coded labels on home equipment, providing easy access to essential information and support. The labels, link to user-friendly videos and additional resources, demystifying the technology found in utility cupboards and under kitchen sinks. This approach reduces confusion and improves the overall moving experience demonstrating Thrive’s commitment to clear, friendly and accessible communications.

"Our goal is to simplify our customers' lives," said Steven Midgley, Head of Sales at Thrive Homes. "In urgent situations like a water leak, new homeowners can scan a QR code to access a quick video tutorial on how to locate and turn off the stop cock. This system is also applied to communal areas in flat blocks, helping residents understand fire and building safety during their initial Home Demonstration and whenever they need a refresher."

The labels and QR codes cover essential information on hot water, heating, electrics, and broadband, ensuring that customers feel comfortable and informed from day one in their new homes. This innovative initiative has been piloted at Parkside, Watford and will be rolled out to future developments.
